Autumn in the Barn
September 9, 10, 11, 12, and 13

Greetings everyone!

Are we there yet? I remember my kids saying that when we would venture on long trips. And sometimes even short trips to town. Those days are long gone, and truthfully, I do miss them. Where did the time go?

But another question that’s along those lines is when is it all right to start getting my autumn decor out? If you’re looking for any definitive answer, according to all the “rules”, you’ve definitely come to the wrong person.

When we’re at Market, especially in the summer markets, we are still shopping for our Christmas products. As we’re in all the buildings that we go in, they keep the temperature at 20° below zero, so when you walk out of the building and a 105° temperature hits you in the face along with that much humidity there in Dallas, you forget what season you’re really in.

I said all that to say, if decorating for autumn in mid-August tricks your brain into feeling like it’s autumn, do it! I’m a firm believer in don’t ask permission, ask for forgiveness.

So this morning, as I’m getting ready to ship my scarecrow that I showed you last week halfway across the country, I’d say somebody thinks it’s autumn and can’t wait to get this little doll baby in their autumn decor.

I’m still receiving autumn shipments, and definitely working on Christmas as well. Just as a little tease, I want you to remember the picture of this big ball of aluminum foil and masking tape and what it will turn into by next week.

While I’m creating little treasures, sometimes I get so excited about my next step, that I can’t sleep at night. The little guy I’m gonna show you next week did that to me. I couldn’t figure out how I was going to do some feature on him, so I laid in bed and worked it through— or so I thought. When I woke up in the morning, I did not follow through with what I thought I wanted at midnight the night before. I tore the whole project apart and started over.

I’m known for getting a product going, and then not liking the progression, tear it all apart, and begin again with a whole new plan until I am excited about. This little guy is, as it is a whole new genre that I ventured into. Especially for the Christmas season.

So just to tweak your curiosity, I’m giving you those little hints of what I’m doing. Can’t wait to see all of you September 9 through the 13th.

Oops – forgot what season I’m in. 😂

Blessings,
Debbie
