Hello Everyone,

It looks like we are in for another hot July week here in Kansas! To keep cool, I have been busy working on our upcoming autumn and Christmas decorations. While it might not actually lower the temperature, it certainly gets me excited for the busy months ahead and the opportunity to see all of your smiling faces at our upcoming events.

Lately, I have been thinking about what makes people smile when they see our products, and I realized how much I truly love connecting with people. Making others smile is incredibly important to me.

My son, who has Down syndrome, has a wonderful way of bringing joy to others. During a recent routine visit to the emergency room, the attending doctor took a real liking to Joel. After chatting with him for just a few minutes, the doctor mentioned that he had started his shift in a bad mood, but talking with Joel completely turned his day around. Joel has no expectations; he is simply a caring soul who loves everyone, and sometimes that genuine connection is exactly what someone needs.

This inspiration has carried over into my work this season. I have really enjoyed creating the faces for our new fictional characters and Santas. I even had to rework a few Santas who initially looked a bit too grumpy—because who wants a mad Santa?

I am having so much fun getting ready for our Autumn Open House here at the barn. The new inventory will be arriving soon, and I cannot wait to share it with you. I hope these new pieces bring a smile to your face, just as creating them did for me. It is truly amazing what a simple smile can do to show someone they are valued.

And sometimes it brings a smile to people’s face when they see that our autumn event is coming up very soon!😊

Warmly,
Debbie Futhey
