Hi Friends!
I’ve been told Summer is winding down, and Autumn is approaching. Frankly, if it wasn’t for school starting back and the change-over that is happening in our store, I wouldn’t believe it. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my summer. Do you know why? It’s all because I made time to do some things that April wanted to do, not just the things that The Added Touch needed to do.
My summer started with creating a new flower bed and tending to older ones (prompted by an outdoor party!). I’m sharing a few flower pictures with you, just because they bring me such joy. Then there was a vacation, a vacation to remember for me! Then I came home and did some serious purging and reorganization of the whole house (including garage, utility room & my workroom) There was a bedroom and full basement that I repainted and did a little redecorating in, too. Oh, and I dusted and redecorated that rather large “plant shelf” across the whole living room wall and in the kitchen. (A lot of trips up & down a 10ft ladder!).
We moved a lot of furniture in and out of the house this summer – of course it involved several flights of stairs each time (there’s a real theme of stairs and ladders for me). I read a few books, and every time I thought I could spare 15 minutes, I would eat my lunch on the back porch. That’s when I would dream that I was sitting near a pool, which never actually happened.
So that was my summer. I want to hear about yours! Come see us at our Autumn open house that is just in two weeks. I know, we’ve been talking about it for so long but it’s really almost here. Just like cooler weather so you can wear your boots and leggings will soon be here.
