Hello, friends!
Have you ever wondered just how a special compliment can add so much to your day or even a project you might be working on? That was my thought last week as I was checking out at my local grocery store.
The checker had almost finished my order, when a young woman behind me said, “Excuse me, ma’am, but I don’t know who does your hair, but it is amazing. You are really rocking it.”
I’m not really knowing what “ rockin’ it “ means for sure, but pretty sure it was something good. I’m sure I looked at her with amazement and what I said to her was “At my age, for someone like you to say that about me, makes me feel so special. The only thing I feel like I am rockin is my rocking chair.” I remembered the compliment all day.
Funny thing, what just one nice comment can do, in the way a compliment can go towards making your day. I remembered it the whole day.
I felt like this, as I was trying to finish the table that I was telling you about last week. The table seemed to be so normal and kind of boring that I wanted something special to set it off. Here’s what the Library Table looked like after I added, the special knobs. Such a difference it made in her overall appearance.
Then, here’s the Lawyers Bookcase that I added the little knobs to. And such a little compliment made this bookcase feel amazing now.
I don’t know about you, but making someone’s day by giving them a compliment really feels good to me. I want to try to do that every day for at least one person. I want it to be genuine, but I also want it to enhance their day and make them feel good about themselves just like the little knobs made these two items feel to me. I know they don’t have feelings, but it made me feel good to do something special for them.
I’m still working on the chairs. I’m looking for the perfect trim and just haven’t found it quite yet. I promise you when they’re done. You’ll be the first to see if the unveiling.
As you can see from the pictures, I am working hard to get the shop looking very Autumnal. So I look forward to our next event, September 12 through the 16th.

Hey girl! This reminds me of a seminar my Dental office went to years ago. Just before we broke for lunch we were told to have a great lunch and were assigned the task of making someone feel important. I dont remember my exact verbiage but I made a comment to our waitress. I could really tell what I said made her day!!
