Autumn Event
September 12-16

Hello!

OK, so today as I was driving home from buying groceries and I thought to myself, I wonder if I turn on Christmas music if I will feel any cooler. Especially, since the temperature is to reach 105° today.

Well to my amazement, I turned on the Christmas music, and it made no difference. I still felt like it is part of a long hot summer that we just can’t wait to get past. They say, hopefully on Friday we’ll get into the upper 80s. It definitely will feel like autumn I’m sure.

In case you’re wondering whether I’ve just been sitting back and sipping lemonade on a lawn chair, I just wanted you to see some of the projects I am working on trying to finish, hopefully, this week. I’ve also got several projects to get done for customers. And, of course, they are as important as staging the shop.

I bought this table at— I forgot where— but I looked it up to see what it was called. I knew that I had seen them before and I thought they were called library tables. Sure enough, this is what I found when I did some research.

The second is that table, I believe was sold on Etsy for $2200. No fears. Mine will sell for a lot less. No, I mean a LOT less. I don’t like the knobs on it, so I’m changing them out. However, I’ll put the original knobs in the drawer, so in case the lucky person who gets this table, might want the knobs from the original. I guess it’s called an Empire Library Table. I can’t wait to start staging it.

New knobs for table

We always try to make the shop look different for the seasons. That entails switching the furniture around. So it is quite a job and I am thankful that my husband is on the team and available—when he’s not out golfing.😊

Finished product picture next week.

This is a chair I’ve been working on as well this week and I think I’m going to love it. I stained it black and then used gold leaf on the design. When my husband took it apart, I realized this is really an old piece. The thing weighs a ton because of the ornate carving. I love it. But I didn’t want it to look just the normal run-of-the-mill reupholster job. I wanted to have some character. Maybe a little whimsy. So I’m working on the whimsy this week. Some may like it, others may not. Isn’t that the way life is?

You love summer, I love winter. That’s what makes the world so interesting to live in. When each season rolls around, I find something to love about it. However, 105° is a bit much.🥵

Looking forward to seeing you at our first Autumn event, September 12 through the 16th. And thank you so much for your business. And, please share it with your friends. I’m sure we’d love them because we know— you would have great friends!

Blessings!
Debbie
