Many of you saw this adorable chair featured in our last post. I though you might like to see the transformation she went under to make her into the gem that she is today.

When I rescued her, she was badly in need of a makeover. At first glance, she doesn’t seem so bad. You might think she just need new “clothing”. However, her internal organs needed major surgery.

Her springs had definitely sprung! This was actually pretty obvious to anyone who might have tried to sit on her. The original upholstery tacks were rusted and the fiber and foam had turned to powder in some places. There were several layers of cloth, batting, burlap, and some type of “hair”. Dismanteling furniture is quite instructive. However, it is a very dirty job and manicures don’t last through it.

So, after new webbing, foam, seat, back, batting, paint, fabric, piping, staples, tacks and a LOT of elbow grease, I present to you a new treasure. Come see her at our Autumn event, Tuesday, September 3 through Saturday, September 7. She just might want to go home with you.
