It’s 2020! Happy New Year! As always, the new year brings lots of anticipation and wishes of a great new beginning and the hope of a wonderful ending to the year ahead.

We start going to markets early this year and we will leave for an awesome buying trip next week. I’m always excited to be with April and grateful that she does all the driving while we are in Dallas. It’s no fun for her or me if  I would have to drive in Dallas. I’m just thankful that she’s willing to chauffeur us for our buying trip,

Many times I have people ask me what my best selling item was during the year. And, my husband and I were discussing that the other day as I was talking about our upcoming trip to market and what my buying strategies were going to be for the coming year.

One thing I’ve noticed over the years is that a lot of times when I buy an item, it just needs some help to give it that “wow” factor. And then after we embellish it, it sells. Yay! This year was no different.

My # 1 best selling Christmas item was a metal nativity wall hanging. It sold whether I had embellished it or not, I loved the way the customer used it even if I had not embellished it. Every time I would order them in, they sold out almost immediately. Nativities are hard to order as it seems as though people are going towards the more unusual styles and not the traditional ones. Perhaps it’s because most collectors of nativities, buy the traditional ones to start their collection and then branch out to different styles. It took me a while to figure that out, but I am so happy to see how well they all sold this year,

The next most popular item was my big elves. I know–you either love them or you hate them. (And as you know, I love them.) So I said all that to say this–I’m on the hunt for more elves this coming year. (Sorry all you elf haters. I just can’t resist these little guys.)

What’s coming in the spring that I think you’ll like? Well, I’ve brought back some little test tube vases. You loved the ones last year and these are not going to disappoint you, either.

And this item, I debated and debated about getting this swing until I called the company and asked if it was suitable for outdoors. Their answer was “Yes” so I ordered it on the spot. I can’t wait for you to see it. I don’t think it will last long. So be watching!

I also can’t wait to get this tricycle in. What a beautiful addition to your spring/summer garden or front porch.

Lots of potted trees will be the new florals. I can’t wait to see this look in the coming year.

That’s all for now. Got to get the new year started.

Blessings to all!

Debbie
