Well, it’s that crazy time of year again. I am having so much fun, yet I am so crazy busy I am a little giddy. When it gets closer to Christmas, I’ll become a little more serious and reflective. I love it when I can do that. That’s really who I am.

And speaking of becoming a little more reflective, I wanted to share with you a very new idea I’ve had. For some reason, I’ve fallen in love with the things of the past. Perhaps, it’s because my mom and dad are both gone and I miss them so much. And this is just a way of revisiting my great childhood. Oh yes, my family was dysfunctional. But isn’t everybody’s? So I’ll just get over it, huh, and relive the great times.

This little snowman on a skate brings to mind the many times me and my 2 other sisters would want to go outside and skate. There were five of us and one pair of skates. By the time my baby sister was old enough to skate, I was out of the house, and my brother never skated with us. So, we only had to share one pair of skates between 3 sisters. Let’s see that 6 feet. How did we remedy that situation? One of us would use one skate on the right foot, the other on the left foot, and the other would be the announcer introducing our routine we were about to perform. Then, she would run the record player with the music we would skate to. I just don’t ever remember a time when we had a full pair of skates on our feet. Do you know all the tricks you can perform on one skate?
So these little snow people hold a special place in my heart. If I could, I would skate up to heaven and tell mom and dad how grateful I was for that one pair of skates. See how it made us so much more creative? There was so much love in those 2 skates than you could ever imagine.
