Hello Everyone,

Where has January gone? Of course they say the older you get the faster time flies. We’ve undergone a lot of things these last few months, especially around here. At times, I feel overwhelmed. At times it feels like a normal day on the farm.

As most of you know from my newsletters, my husband broke his back in November and shortly thereafter a hernia showed up. So off to surgery we go and what happens about the back surgery in December.? The surgeon canceled because he couldn’t get enough help to come in, So they moved it to January. His hernia began to hurt him so much that he opted to have the hernia surgery and forget the back and let it heal on its own. (Those were the options from the back surgeon.)

So on the 12th of January, he had hernia surgery. Mind you, this man has never had surgery in his life, so this was very new to him. The nurses were flabbergasted that a person his age had never had surgery.

Well, let’s hope he never has to have surgery again. He equated it with having a baby. I know some of you will take issue with that analogy. But let’s just let him think that. Anything to get him up and going again will benefit us all. He’s starting to get back to normal again, and believe me—I need it! He keeps everything going behind the scenes.

Enough about the greatest guy in the world. Let’s see some of the products we’ve just received. I can’t wait to get these products staged to give you ideas for your decorating plans. Not only do we want to give you some of the greatest products out there, we want to empower you to become a great decorator.

One of the items I love to purchase at market are beautiful stems. And guess what? I’ve already received some of those beautiful stems.

I love the lush big blooms to place in a beautiful vase. And then intermingle some beautiful branches. You can even cut them off of your trees right now and then you’ll have no leaves. However, if you really want to get some “real” going on, cut some of your Forsythia or budding branches like Pussy Willow and force them to bloom inside your home. I saw that at market this year and fell so in love with it. What better way to bring the promise of a beautiful new beginning than that. I believe all you would have to do is cut the branches and put water at the bottom of the vase. As long as your artificial stems are plastic, you have nothing to worry about in ruining the faux flowers. Just one vase of pure divine pleasure is what you’ll create. (Well, I may be overstating that a little, but you get the idea.)

And I may have over-bought on bud vases, but when has that never been an issue before in my buying habits? This one was so unique and unusual that I had to have it. Just remember some of the beautiful stems i’ve purchased will look gorgeous in this one. Remember to bring in some live boxwood when it starts to green up and you’ll have a vase that looks like you must have a greenhouse to create this so early in the season. These vases aren’t in yet, but hopefully soon.

And what would all of these flowers be without a bee somewhere in the midst? What a great little statement.

This flower is one that I won’t be able to kill. Unless I drop it, and knowing my klutz capabilities, that just might happen.

Blessings on your week. Stay warm and be a blessing to others!
Debbie
