Hey, girls!

Isn’t it beautiful.  The snow, I mean.  Well, maybe not so much.  At any rate, I  am going to try to enjoy the beauty of the white blankets and the diamonds I see in the snow at night time when the light shines just right on it.  And, the moon—-oh, how I remember when I was a young girl and looked out into the sky, into the huge white moons that shone upon the beautiful snow at nights.  I know I could see Santa fly through the air in front of the moon many  times.

Memories – aren’t they great!  I came home from market this January and I had found my new favorite color.  It’s YELLOW!  And what can bring a smile to your face quicker than seeing the forsythias starting to bloom each year.  Yes, I know, I talk about it every year.  This year I found the neatest Forsythia branch I have ever seen.  It is like a garland that is REAL whispy.  And you know, I am all about wild and wispy.  It would look great through the spring and summer months paired with the right elements.

Just to relive a beautiful yellow memory, (Please indulge me for a moment), I can remember as a child my mother loved the Forsythia bush.  Every year I recall her saying, “It won’t be much longer.  The Forsythia’s are blooming.”  I knew Spring would be close and all would be well.  However, I could never remember the word–“Forsythia.”  It was an awful big word for an eight-year old to remember.  However, I wanted to remember it very much, because the word, as well as the actual bush brought me so much joy.  How would I remember it??

After thinking of what would bring me as much joy as the feelings of Spring would bring, I thought of my sister—Cynthia.  And so every time I would want to remember the name of that beautiful bush, I thought of Cynthia.  For-Cynthia.  It wasn’t until later in my life I found out the spelling was not correct, but the thought and the feelings I felt were.

As always, I am excited about the Spring event March 25 through the 29th.  The new barn should be done and ready for the show.  If it’s not–well we’ll have to postpone the show because the old barn is in a shambles right now; we are dismantling the walls in the old barn to use in the new barn.  Soooooo, everything will be all new.  Like Spring—and blooms on the Forsythia branches will be in full bloom. If not outside, they will be in the shop.  Remember my mother’s encouraging words,  “It won’t be long, the Forsythia’s are blooming.”

And as always–I can’t wait to see you all.  You’re the best!
