What Does it Take to Get to 53 Years of Marriage?

Hello Everyone!

I can’t believe it but today is our 53rd wedding anniversary. So many things have happened in the 53 years. Even though we’ve been married that long, it seems like yesterday.

We’ve worked together for 53 years and are just now learning how to work together and have fun while doing it. But, at our age, we realize that our time is almost over.

Many people never make it to this point, but as I’ve said before, the only thing that’s kept us together is that we’ve both become good “forgivers.” I wish we had another 53 years together, but that’s not going to happen here on Earth. So I guess I will just express how grateful I am to have come this far with such a wonderful husband.

So to celebrate those 53 years we are going antiquing on a little road trip. So by the time you read this blog, we will be home from the trip with what I hope is a lot of treasures.

On my last little road trip I picked up this vintage coal container. I’m always looking for the unusual. I can’t wait to see what we bring home this time.

I’ve had so much fun painting these MacKenzie Childs-inspired vases. It just takes so much time or I would probably be doing that all the time. However, I know some of you are not as wild about these creations as I am.

And on one of my treasure-seeking missions, I found this beautiful chair that needed to be recovered. My husband did not have to do too much to it to make it recovery ready. I love doing these types of chairs and I am getting better and a little faster with each chair project.
