I just wanted to share with all of you the latest project I’ve been working on. We had a Father’s Day dinner here and my husband didn’t notice what I had done. The only thing he did notice was that I mentioned I was changing the color of my main floor living area. He seemed quite surprised, and I really don’t know why as he should be used to it by now.
The colors I am updating are all going to a much lighter palette. However, I do need to keep the yellow undertones alive. So I’ve reupholstered my seat cushions, bought a new settee, added some new pillows, just to name a few of the new little updates I’ll share with you later. (I don’t know if he’s even noticed those little changes, either.)
Pretty much all of the actions I took on this project were as pictured.
- Taped the areas of the chandelier that I didn’t want to get chalk paint on
- Base coated the area of the project I wanted changed with my super duper chalk paint
- Added dark wax to the “white paint”
- Wiped the dark wax off of the white paint. You’re done!
Hope you enjoy looking at it. We’re getting ready for our big Warehouse Sale in July. July 26, 27 and 28. Hope you’ll mark your calendars.
