I must confess–I always have wanted there to be two Christmases. The fun and jovial one and the serious and more reflective one. So for me, that’s what I’ve created.
For a moment let’s create a lot of joviality and nostalgia.

Me and Santa
Every year my mother would pack us up and take us to Macy’s (Innes in Wichita) for our annual trip to see Santa. I can remember it was not necessarily something I looked forward to, because all I could think about was sitting on this strange man’s lap telling him what I wanted for Christmas.
Oh how I wanted to pull his beard to see if it was real! I knew if I did I would never be able to sit on his lap again. And if he was real–well, you guessed it. From then on–it would be underwear for Christmas for the rest of my life. So I refrained and later learned that I should have gone with my gut instinct and pulled the beard and asked forgiveness later. What a memory she created.
Now that she’s gone, I relive it every year. And feel she’s right beside me as I sit on Santa’s lap and tell him what I want for Christmas. (No underwear, please.)

So I guess that explains why I am still having fun with little Santas and the fun stuff of Christmas. Here’s a little one that we’ll have in the store for the open house. These are very limited quantities.

And what would Christmas be without snowmen everywhere–and you guessed it. We’ve got “em.” Lots of them.
Next week, I’ll share the more serious side of Christmas.

Many of you have asked about a Nativity like the one that I had carried several years ago. This year I found one that fits the bill. I can’t wait for you to see them. They are very well done and affordably priced.
So, save the date for our next event in the barn: October 24 from 10 to 6, October 25 from 10 to 6, October 26 from 10 to 5, and October 27 from 10 to 3.
