Autumn Event, September 6-10

Hello Everyone!

I know Debbie and I say it every year, We “can’t wait for Autumn” and you should know, that is always a true statement. In Kansas, Autumn can’t truly be defined by the temperature outside. Some years, Autumn hits in September, other years, the temps are still warm into the beginning of October. Therefore, in some of our minds, we ask the question, “What is the appropriate item of clothing for today?” (I know not everyone thinks that way, but some of us are quirky like that.) Well, I have a section of my closet designated to “transition to the next season”. Here’s how I would use some of the new transition pieces that I’ve stocked the store with.

This kimono is lightweight and colored with the yellow, sage, and rust colors that shout “Fall” if we put them in that context. In this first picture, however, I have paired it with a sleeveless white linen blouse and lightweight black skirt. In early September, this can easily be worn with sandals. You could also start the day with the kimono on and then shed it when it is still getting into the 90’s. (Note: some of you bought a yellow linen dress from me this last year, and it looks good with this kimono for wearing right now)

Then, as September progresses and it actually feels more like Autumn, I would pair it with this rust colored button down blouse and pants. Of course, a basic black shirt underneath would work as well. You might even use this time to highlight the small leopard print that’s there.

One last tip, jewelry can also help you transition items from season to season.(And I’ve got a lot of new jewelry, as well as accessories in the store!)😉

I can’t wait to see all of you and hear about the different ways you are being creative with your clothing style.

See you at our September open house!
