Welcome, fall—- not yet! However, when you’re working on autumn wreaths and autumn florals, it’s just feels like it should be mid to end of September.

Then throw in working on Christmas items, it’s no wonder I feel so conflicted as to what time of the year it really is.

I can remember walking out of Market in summer and feeling like Christmas would be in just a week or two. I had still been buying for the Christmas season. However, as the Dallas heat hits you in the face it brings you back to reality pretty quick.

This was a real cute shop in Hesston. The owner was so fun to be with. This is one you don’t want to miss.

As far as our antiquing trips, I made a big haul at one store, however, at another store the two items I bought were broken. I guess I didn’t realize that in an antique store they don’t mind selling things that are broken. I think they thought they fixed them – – but oh no, not at all! I will learn to be more careful in my selections .

I always know that real antiques may need a little refurbishing like this rocking horse I bought. I can’t wait to get this redone and fix it up for someone to take home. I think it would look great near a fireplace at Christmas time. It’s just one of those things I couldn’t resist, even though I thought I paid too much for it.

My husband is very busy working in the business this year. Sometimes I do worry that I’m overworking him. However, he gets in at least 18 holes of golf and sometimes 36 four mornings a week. Maybe I am really not the hard driver boss that some people think I may be. 😊 And actually, I think he enjoys it quite a lot. I know he doesn’t want to go back to his 5 AM to 5 PM job— ever!

So, I said all that to say this—mark your calendars for our first autumn event of the season, September 10 through the 14. We will have two events in the month of September. That last event, September 26, 27 and 28 I plan on hosting a “make it and take it” workshop as usually that event is not near as busy as our first autumn event of the season. I can’t wait to host that event for you with upcoming details the first of September.

So for now, I look forward to seeing you September 10, 11, 12, 13 or 14. Or – – maybe every day that week.

Blessings!
Debbie
