Hello, Friends!

Spring has definitely sprung. So as usual, we’re changing out our pine greenery for the much softer look of spring. I just purchased an area rug for my family room. It’s a beautiful rug for spring and summer, however, I’m not sure how it’s going to look in the fall and winter. Maybe it’s something I should think about as I contemplate whether I keep it or not. Area rugs are not something that I typically change out for the seasons so I need to get this one right.

Wait a minute…why not change it out for the seasons??? Sorry, husband. Just a thought.🤔

However, as I worked on a chair for the shop, I wanted it to have a spring vibe as well as look great in the autumn months.

I was at one of my favorite stores in Kansas City, and I saw this bedding set and fell in love with the bugs on this one piece of fabric. I had to have the fabric as I just felt it livened up the upcoming season of spring. The whimsy of it made me smile. I was definitely smitten.

So how would I incorporate this to not just look cheery for the spring and summer months, but also not look so seasonal (spring/summer) for the remainder of the year. So this is what I did:

I took the black buffalo check I used to cover the seat and made this cheery pillow out of my insect fabric. Love the colors in this pillow.

Then as summer comes to a close, we’ll reverse the pillow and will bring on a more subtle autumnal look. And won’t it be great at Christmas?

As I thought through what a customer might do with this chair, I contemplated this look would be so great in an entry to sit on to put those shoes on at the last minute or throw your coat on when you’re in a hurry as you come into your home.

I am working on some more furniture rescue projects, but these things take time. 😊 So most will not be done until our May event.

Thank God my husband is helping me with the parts that require muscle.

Always the question so many people ask me is what was my best seller for this past event. Well, hands-down it was the little pigs I showed you in the email a couple of weeks ago. I had eight of them and all eight of them sold on the first day.

At first, when we were at Market, I decided I would not buy them. However, I thought because they were adorable,I would just take the chance. That one, not all of my risks work out.😊

If you weren’t able to come to our last event, I hope you’ll be able to come to this next one, April 16 through the 20.

Tuesday, April 16, 10 o’clock to 5:30 PM
