Thank you so much to all of you who ventured out for our last Autumn Event. You all are incredible. So as always, it’s onward and upward, to greater heights for our sneak preview of Christmas.

As all of you know, if you have come to the shop for very long, that Christmas holds such wonderment for me. The traditions never grow old for me. Each creation of mine is an extension of who I am and what I believe. The Nativity story will never become commonplace to me. Each year I learn more and more and am excited about the season and the Holy reverence it creates in me each year.

That being said, I never want anyone to take that inner child out of me. The excitement that Santa brought to me will never grow old either. I’ve always loved the magic of fairy tales, but I do not place my hope in any of them. They are merely an escape from a world full of problems and fears. Maybe that’s why I have so much fun with Santa and all its’ frivolity. If just for a season, please do not take the “inner child” from me. I need that escape from this world for a few minutes. My creations always conjured up my world when I was a child. I so enjoy reliving those memories and thinking back to all of the people in my life that have made those Christmases so memorable.

Full disclosure–We never did much in the way of Santa when my children were going up. Somehow we were taught that it was taking away the true meaning of Christmas. But what I’ve come to know now is that it is almost a relief on Christmas Eve to go to church and celebrate the true meaning of the season. Santa and the elves is the last thought on any of our minds. We are focused on what the true season is about. And all that gift giving culminated to this point seems worth it, even if someone doesn’t care that I gave them underwear for Christmas.
So you can be sure that the true meaning of Christmas will be celebrated here, as well as the magical parts. Christmas causes my heart to say, “I love you Jesus and and thank you for all the fun things you’ve given us in this life.”

So let’s begin getting ready for that magical season.
