Hello Everyone,
Who would have believed it. Especially those who told us, “it would never work. She’s a city girl and you’re a country boy.” Well 52 years and still loving strong, we’re more in love today than we were when I was the ripe old age of 18 and he was the elderly man of 21 years of age. I love to prove naysayers wrong!

I guess you all know this because I always like to push the envelope of trends and styles to the edge. Maybe that’s why it’s lasted so long, as my husband loves to be amused by me or frustrated by me. (He’s always been a great problem solver.)

I can remember in the early of the years of my business one of the unwritten rules of designing is that you never mix dried flowers with silks. Well, I just decided that’s ridiculous and did it anyway. Then shortly after I saw many people step out into uncharted territory and we all started proving the naysayers wrong.

And now we’re mixing stripes with flowers and prints with all kinds of patterns—maybe plaids with polka dots. It is an art and sooo much fun. And tons more interesting than the boring rules we thought we had to follow.
And so who would ever want to save a tree stump but someone who is not afraid to do the unusual or is so emotionally attached to a tree that has gone down. Not just me, but I’ve seen so many people do so much with this seeming loss of a tree. I’m thinking that when I find just the right tabletop, we’re going to have a new area with a sort of picnic table that will fit right on the top of the tree stump. Add some chairs, and we have a new picnic area in our yard.

And this little guy might want to be the perfect addition to your garden this summer. And as a bonus his basket can actually hold bird seed. He’d look great in the center of a table with sunflowers all around him. And being from Kansas, who doesn’t have a soft spot for sunflowers? Not so weird as all my other suggestions.🤪

And as I close this newsletter, have I told you how wonderful my customers are! I love you all and wish I had a picture of all of you!

Have a wonderful Memorial Day and don’t forget our Patriotic Event, June 9, 10 and 11.

Blessings!
Debbie
