Thinking Outside the Sled! The Newest Shop Favorite Item

I hope you all don’t get tired of me telling you this, but I feel so blessed by you, all of my faithful customers. With the economic conditions the way they are, I really didn’t know what to expect for our events and shows that we’re doing for the Christmas season. But you all are such a support to this business and I can’t thank you enough. Our sales were higher this year than last year at the past event and I am so grateful to all of you for coming out and those who have been able to come these past years. You make the business worth getting up every morning for and working hard to bring you items that are, many times, one of a kind.

I did want to bring you up to date on the sled that my husband finished and built for the shop. (And of course, it is for sale.) I remember the day I brought the antique sled runners home. He looked at them and said, “What are you going to do with those?” And of course, I smiled, and said, “No, dear, what are YOU going to do with these?”

While my husband has a hard time thinking “outside the box”, you all know that it’s the only way I do think most of the time. But, if I have a dream in mind and draw it out for him, he can make something so sturdy that you can drive a car on top of it if you so desire.

So after a planning session and some brainstorming, off he went to create this coffee table sled. I can see this in someone’s mountain home or on a sun porch anywhere and any time of the year. So many of you commented on it when you came into the store and I wanted to share it with the rest of you.

Our next event will be Thanksgiving week, here in the shop (barn.) Tuesday, November 22, 10 – 5, Wednesday, November 23, 10-3, Closed Thanksgiving Day, Friday, November 25, 10-5. and Saturday, November 26, 10-3. (Note the 5:00 closing time because it’s getting dark at this time of year at 5:00.)

And also, a reminder, we’ll be at Church of the Magdalen this coming Saturday with lots and lots of new products we’re making even this week. April, of The Added Touch will be there right beside us on the west wall of the gymnasium. She just gets better and better picking all the clothes you love. Plus, she has those beautiful gloves that you all buy her out of at the Magdalen show. We can’t wait to see you at the show.
