Hello Friends!

By now I’m sure you guys have figured out that it’s time for me to start on my Christmas products. I always get excited as I open the boxes and see the new products we have for the season. This season is no different.

I’m getting ready to make a set of angel wings that I purchased at Market and I’ll be in enhancing them with what I hope you will love. These were some of the most beautiful wings I had ever seen and it was one of those buys that I had to have. I didn’t purchase very many of them simply because of the price. But I can’t wait for you to see them finished the way I do it. The ones you see in this picture are from Market. I always like to put a new twist on items.

Speaking of angels, and I know this is theologically incorrect, my husband and I took three special people to Branson last week and they had a ball. One thing you notice when you have a group of “angels” like this, is that a lot of people look at you. It’s not that they’re being mean, I just think that they are trying to figure them out.

I remember when I was pregnant with my son who has down syndrome, I was almost afraid to engage with people that were different in their mental capabilities. Not that I felt they were inferior to me, but I was afraid there would be a communication barrier. But as I’ve learned later in life, these individuals have come to bless me more than any one or anything else on this earth even if I can’t understand what they are saying many times.

Sometimes you may wonder why God would bless the world with these types of individuals and I’ve come to realize, just as I did on our trip that really, He put these people here so that we all could feel good about doing nice things for people who cannot repay us.

As we rode the tram back to our car from the amusement park, we were separated because the tram was very full, only by one seat from our special people that we took with us. If you know anything about some of these special people, they in no way are shy about talking to strangers. No matter how much you try to teach them about stranger danger, they just don’t get it.

We sat within eye-shot between these kids and the first thing I heard was my son talking to a man about his tattoos all over his body. From his neck down he was covered with tattoos. I wondered how this burly, rough-looking man would respond or whether these kids were bothering him. But no. He interacted with them like they were his long lost cousins. As is the case very often, towards the end of the ride, he wanted to give them something. He reached into his pocket and gave all three of them a guitar pick. You would have thought he had just handed them a diamond ring. They all thanked him for it and he got off of the tram.

I knew my son knew what a guitar pick was used for, but wasn’t sure about the others. And you know—it didn’t really matter. All that mattered was that someone recognized them as a person of worth.

And as I looked at the man as he exited the tram, I saw that he had been blessed to make someone feel so important.

So God has a two-fold reason for these individuals. Number one so that they can be blessed by others, and number 2 is for “normal” people to have the satisfaction of giving to those who will never be able to repay or able to give back anything—except love. And as the song says, “What a wonderful world.”

Just wanted to remind you of our event at the end of the month. It’s our first Christmas event of the season. October 25-29. I can’t wait for the season of where we gather with those we love!

And, we will have angels at this event.🙂

Blessings!
