Autumn Event-August 6-10
Hello all!
I woke up this morning and couldn’t remember the date. Have you ever done this before? Yikes! It is the 8th of August already. So maybe my dreams about Autumn are not so crazy, early as I thought. And the temps this week are not supposed to be over 100 degrees. Whoohoooo! I’ll take 92 as opposed to 102 degrees any old day.

But, I’ve got to get started on the fall florals I’ll be making for this event and quit painting for a while. I have had fun trying to learn this skill, and of course, I’m going to incorporate it into my designs, one way or another. It’s been fun, but it’s time to move on to work on more items for the shop for the Fall event.

Every year, about this time, I start with the memories of my childhood school days. Not that I loved school, but I loved art classes as well as music and Literature. I know that’s probably quite shocking to you all. But with the school days came the decorating for back to school and Autumn. What a wonderful world to be able to celebrate so many different things in life.
These little guys remind me of the songs we used to sing at the end of September and the first of October. Such innocence we had in those days. I wish my grandkids could experience this without all the worries they have nowadays. I’m not big into Halloween at all, but these little kids were some I couldn’t resist when I was at the market.
And then, whatever happened to Thanksgiving? Year after year we try to bring in Pilgrims, but they have not been good sellers. So when I saw these little “kid Pilgrims” I knew I had to have them. They remind me of the plays we would create and perform the plays in our neighbor’s garage with a sheet hung up as a curtain. If my memory serves me correctly, we even charged a whopping penny for admission to see our performances. And of course, the play was about the Pilgrims coming to America and having the Indians teach them how to plant a dead fish with the corn seed. (The dead fish served as a fertilizer I was told.)

I’m always excited about the Sunflowers in the Fall. Nothing can stop them from being beautiful no matter what the amount of rain has been. They are always gorgeous along the road and in arrangements.

I have started fixing our little warehouse area (inside our shop) and there will be some incredible buys in that area. Remember, we don’t give reward points for products that are already discounted.
I hope you’re looking forward to some cooler weather and some great, unique fall products. Hope to see you September 6-10!
Blessings!
Debbie
