Ok. Just so you know. I do have a life beyond Memories of Home. I am blessed with 10 adorable grandchildren. April, of the Added Touch, another one of my daughters, and I went to Colorado Springs, Colorado to visit my 3rd daughter’s children. All 5 of them. I so enjoy being with the little munchkins.
This first picture is of us at the first eating establishment we visited. The youngest one had just spilled a huge cup of ice water in my lap and one of the other’s had just splattered a big cup of ketchup all over her father’s new Nike tennis shoes and all over his feet. Needless to say, we were all in a very slap-happy mood. It’s wonderful having 5 children!
Then the children wanted to show me the log cabin they were building out of the trees on their property. I don’t know how their father finds time to build things for them, but when he does, he does a wonderful job! The children put the flat roof on it because they knew winter was coming and they wanted to get it done, to that point, so that they could use it when it is not snowing.
And of course, April and I went antiquing and found this wonderful tea set for a client who had asked me to find one for her. And of course, we found a lot of other treasures, also.
I had such a special time with one of my granddaughters who was having a birthday that week. I took her out for a Frappuccino® and we had quite a visit.
I wanted to talk to her most of the time, but she turned the tables on me and interviewed me like a news reporter would. “What was my favorite job that I ever held?” was one of her questions. Without a doubt, it was raising my 5 children. But, I told her that the job I have now, is by far my favorite. It was such a special time with her.
And of course, what kind of a grandmother would I be, or an Aunt would April be if we didn’t play a little basketball with the grands?
Time to load up and go home, and we even made a few stops for more treasures even after our vehicle was stuffed to the top.
We are glad for the wonderful time and know that it is time to get back to work! Don’t forget our “Autumn Open House” starting next week!
