One trend we saw at market this year was a unique way of advertising. It seemed like every time I turned around, I saw vehicles being used as props. These weren’t the brand-new, shiny vehicles with big red bows on top that we see during Christmas commercials. These were some well-loved classics.

While this was a really fun way of getting someone’s attention, I don’t believe we will be incorporating any four-wheeled props in our shop’s décor. It did get me to thinking about focal points in our homes, though.  We all know about fireplaces, built-in bookcases, and picture windows, but what about your table top displays and shelves? Do they each have their own eye catching, anchoring object? This is usually the largest but not always the centered object. (Sometimes I feel like being a rebel and offsetting the main character.)

And sometimes, it is just fun to use objects in a way they were not intended for. (like VW vans as displays.) This picture from market reflects our style much better. I love the way these wall plaques (that look like doors) are used on top of the table. Then hanging the wreath front and center really bring the eye up. One of my personal favorite props are easels. They can be one of your best friends when it comes to creating unique displays. Not only do they vary height, but textured and dimensional items likes small wreaths and pillows can be hung or propped on an easel.

Well,  I’ve shown you some exaggerated displays today, but hopefully it sparks your desire to get out of a rut and try something new. We have great new products to help you create your own one-of-a-kind display. Come see all the wonderful spring items during our event,
