Sometimes I can’t let Christmas be over. When it’s such a wonderful holiday, nothing else compares to it. This Christmas was so special. All my children were home, and we all loved on each other the whole time we were together. The children were well nigh to perfect. I know this sounds too good to be true, but it’s the way I remember it. (Now if my children are reading this they may beg to differ.) But I’m the mom, and I can remember what I want.
I just wanted to share with you some of the decorations I finally got put up. The area I liked decorating the most was my balcony. I usually do a little more serene look to the area, but this year I wanted a little whimsical touch. So I hung the big stocking in the center. I used the greenery that sells out every year. I know you guys love it, but someday they are going to discontinue it. So we’ll need to find another that is so easy to use.
Along those lines, I decorated the chandelier a little differently than I have in the past. I used that same greenery and then I draped ribbon through the greenery. I made a big bow at the top, then I placed red ice-frosted peonies at the top. I loved it—I may put hearts in it a leave it up until Valentine’s Day. So festive!!!!!
Then my mirror looked so big and lonely, that I took a pine bough and decorated in red balls and red ribbons. Such a touch to liven up an otherwise ordinary mirror.
And then there was my china cabinet—–It didn’t looked dressed for the party we were about to celebrate. So I took all the pine I could find, placed some frosted berries and,of course, frosted pheasant feathers, and placed them on the cabinet. And at last, I took the most festive pheasants I could find and included them on the guest list for our celebration. They loved sitting atop my cabinet and watching and listening to all the conversation that was taking place at all of our gatherings.
Then I went to my kitchen, and realized, that as much time as I was going to be spending in the kitchen during the holiday, I wanted my kitchen to be decorated also. So I placed a wreath in each of my windows. (Four of them to be exact.) Then I hung a big wreath to match in the family room. Whoa!!!! By that time, I knew it was time for Christmas, and what didn’t get done, was not going to get done.
Then it was Christmas. I looked at the nativity that had a prominent place in my dining room and I said, “Christmas leaves me with just one thing to say, We love you Jesus”
Merry Christmas—-all through the year.

So lovely Debbie! I enjoyed your comments also. Knowing most of your children and grandchildren, I’m sure they all WERE perfect! Thanks for sharing.
